The NIWA is “an industrious, honest and transparent organisation that delivers real support to each member whilst developing the sport throughout Northern Ireland”.               

  

The aim of NIWA is outlined in its Constitution but can be summarised as follows:    

  

Promote, grow and develop the sport;    

Promote competitions and social events amongst the members of the NIWA   

To assist in the establishment of any other Association or the formation of any club to the benefit of the sport.

*This is of particular relevance to the sport of “Grappling” which is closely connected to  freestyle wrestling.
