The Northern Ireland Wrestling Association operates a nominal fee membership which is available to competing athletes and parents and supporters who may wish to explore volunteering opportunities.
Our membership supports a wide range of functions including the organisation of regional tournaments, support for local clubs and invitations to all members to join us at our Annual General Meeting.
We also have an information infrastructure including NIWA Policies, current news, competitions and results on our website.
Membership as an athlete:
Enables you to be eligible for selection to The Northern Ireland Talent Squad and as a Talent Squad member you may be eligible for funding (support for competition)
Enables you to be eligible for invitations to participate in inter-club training
Enables you to be eligible for selection to represent your club at domestic and national tournaments
Enables you to be eligible for selection to represent Northern Ireland at national and international tournaments
Membership as an associate:
Enables non athletes eligibility to pursue volunteering opportunities
Voluntary active roles in wrestling, some examples: Referee, Judge, Time-keeper, Pairing-master, Event organiser
Voluntary roles at Club level, some examples: Coaching, Administration, Designated Child Protection Officer, Fundraiser
Membership fees effective from 1st January 2013
Junior – 17 and under: £5.00
Senior – 18 and over: £10.00
Associate/Volunteer: Seniors – £10 – Juniors – £5
